certain sequence of events veered me from my passion. or maybe it was because i grew up and realized there was more than raw beats and fancy footwork. maybe it's just a bunch of excuses to blame it on.
so i was gone for a long time and i came back. i made a lot of money and i spent it all. my friends have moved on and i should too. my fat markers dried up and my sweats and beanies ended up in the back of the closet. bgirl emKay was just emkay. and for a while that was ok. no more area codes and i was holding one man's hand. i was making gas tracks to the bay and back and never telling the truth. not the lifestyle i pictured but it's what i made it to be. i knew when i couldn't 6 step that i was out of my element.
but when exposed out of our element we grow stronger and we know better.
i should take it easy to re-evaluate my priorities and how i want to live my life. or maybe it's time to dust off the shelltoes, bring back the blackbooks, and lube the bearings. we shouldn't look back but 2000 and 2005 were good years. word.
